Keeping Hope For Ashley Nicole

Ashley’s story: On January 16 @ around 4:30pm Ashley complained that she has a really bad headache. She went home and took some ibuprofen. They left her house with Max driving back to work to get some extra hours. As they pulled up to the shop, Ashley again said her headache was getting worse. At the moment, she slumped over and slurred her words... She said, take me to the hospital. Her brother Nick and Max rushed to Montevideo hospital when they determined after a head CT scan that Ashley had a hemorrhagic stroke. As I tried to talk to Ashley, she just kept repeating some word that I couldn't understand. No matter what questions were asked, she couldn't answer them.... They called in life flight to rush her to the cities (Minneapolis) while Dad, brother Nick, Max and I drive the long two hours. When we got to North Memorial and they brought me back to see her, I was not expecting to see what I saw.. Ashley was now on a ventilator and was put in a medical induced coma. They repeated the CAT scan with no change to the brain bleed. The Dr explained to me that she has a large bleed. At this moment we have no explanation on why this has happened. We don't know how long she will be like this... The Dr said she could be this way for days, weeks, months, or she may never wake up. She may need surgery to relieve some pressure from her brain. Her right side has been affected by stroke. Now we simply play the waiting game, hoping no issues arise and she heals as best she can. Through this very tough time, Ashley’s children are safe and with close, loving family members. But they as well as the bills for the house and hospital need to be taken care of, this is a very long road ahead of her. Ashley would support anyone, no matter what, however they needed. She’s a truly heartless person. She works hard to provide for her children and has created a comfortable home them. So now we ask you to be just as generous and help to keep her and her children cared for during this time. We are thankful for any amount that can be donated and are grateful for all the love and prayers everyone has sent during this time. https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ashleyhoman.
