Laura’s Cancer Help Fund

Hello. My name is Tiffany Kendall.

My mother, Laura, Age 60, was admitted into the Hospital January 4th due to the results of an MRI she had done of her brain due to loss of eyesight and neck pain she has been having for the past couple months. After multiple tests (MRI’s, CT scans, X-rays) & a week stay, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer that has metastasized to her skull and spine. She has multiple tumors throughout the spine and skull. The neck area is the most significant as the tumor has deteriorated the base of her skull and the top 3 discs in her neck. We were informed Monday that the tumor in her neck is basically the only thing holding her head up. The tumors in her skull are affecting the bone around her eyes and her optic nerves which is affecting her eyesight.... there was also a lesion found on the back of her right eye. She is no longer able to work, drive nor is she able to live alone. We have moved her in to our home and I have become her caretaker making sure she eats, guide her to get around and make sure she takes her medication along with taking her to appointments and dealing with the paperwork.

She needs your help.

Amongst the daily accumulation of medical bills for the hospital and multiple weekly visits to her oncologists, she still has every day needs that add up. And with her out of work and me barely working as I am home taking care of her.... the means to take care of the little things like gas to get to her appointments every week, food, her personal bills, money for co-pays for each appointment & prescription copays and medical equipment that her insurance doesn’t cover.

This was unexpected.

We definitely didn’t think that her neck pain was going to turn into this serious of a situation. She was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in her right breast back in 2009. She has a full mastectomy and went through Chemotherapy and Radiation. She ended her radiation on 1/3/2010. She was in remission. We thought.... she thought..... she was “cancer free.”

I can’t even begin to describe what this feels like. All of this has been overwhelming. And I know she is internally (on top of the obvious) struggling with it all. She was told the likely hood is she has 2-3 months left. We want her to live and have a good quality of life for the remainder of her days. I don’t want her stressing over money when she needs to focus on her health. So, Please.... Anything you can spare to go towards bills, medications, gas.... anything to help ease her conscience would be appreciated more than words can express.

Thank you for your Love and Support.
