Help Keith Burgess of Maine Fund
Keith Burgess (77) a former boat designer, composites engineer, and an alumnus of MIT suffered a brain stem stroke in early 2017. He was improving but was set back by a fall at Christmastime that broke his hip. He still lives in rural Maine with his wife Marjorie (79) who is having an increasingly hard time caring for him. Because of a failed business venture in his mid-60’s, they have no assets and depend on Medicare and Social Security. I am his daughter (but live very far away).
As he is being released from post-hip-surgery rehab next week because Medicare will not cover further care there, I am desperately hoping to raise money to buy us time to figure out a longer term affordable convalescent-care situation. To stay on at the facility he is at costs $320/day. If you know Keith or Marjorie, or if you just understand and abhor the desperate situations of low-income elderly in the U.S., please contribute to this fund to help us thru this immediate crisis!
Any amount you feel you can contribute would be appreciated more than I can say.
