50K in a Day- Walk for Cancer

As we all know this global pandemic has hit harder than we thought. Therefore that means that everyone's attention is put on COVID-19 patients but let's not forget about the other patients with different illnesses such as Cancer. It is very hard for anyone to go through a family member's death without being in a pandemic, which therefore makes it even more challenging than ever to say goodbye to our loved ones.
In my family, there are 4 cancer survivors and unfortunately 2 deaths due to cancer. These deaths were my 2 grandmothers who both died young in their 50's. I was only 7 months old when one of them died and I never got to meet the other. It is upsetting that I never fully knew what they were like. I've been told stories about them but it's not the same. I don't have the privilege of being able to visit them, hug them or kiss them. My Nanny Rossiter died of breast cancer and my Nanny Coleman died through the spread of a tumour on her kidney. They were both so special in this world to so many people and died way too young.
As you can tell, this fundraiser means a lot to me and to many more people out there as cancer can be found anywhere in the world. So that's why I'm going to walk 50km on Friday, May 15th, to raise money for cancer and to show the strength and courage of all the cancer patients. Also to let them know they're not going through this alone. I know it's a difficult time right now especially financially so any donation, big or small, will go a long way and it would be really appreciated. All donations will be given to the Irish Cancer Society!!
