Update Sunday, December 15, 2013: Yes, believe it or not this is the total of my Mommy's medical bills last time she was brave enough to do the math! 192k+......and it ain't over yet.....grrrr...

Thank you visiting my page! Things have been really ruff lately and I sure could use your help. Pull out a chair, grab your tissues, here is my story.

My name is Clover.

I have a wonderful and beautiful mommy, Kelly Ann, who is a photographer, model, make-up artist, artist and adventurer, to name a few.

About a month ago she had a hard landing on an airplane and was carried off on a stretcher! Can you believe it??!!

So they did surgery and cut off some disc that was pressing into her spinal cord and also took 3 pieces of that disc out of her back. Ouch!! She was in the hospital for 2 weeks!

This is a picture of when she was discharged:
But, after being home for only 3 days she ended up back in the hospital with a terrible infection! Uugh!

How is she today?

She is still in the hospital and may come home very soon and continue to get antibiotics a few times a day through a picc line in her arm for a whole month!!

How does she feel?

Mommy is numb from the waist down. She does have some really horrible back pain and weird nerve sensations as her body tries to figure out what the heck happened. She can walk with a walker.

What do the doctors say?

Once the infection is completely gone and the inflammation has subsided they will do a surgery that will take out the rest of the broken disc and another one that is bulging and replace them with dead people bones (gross!), steel rods and screws and when this is all finished she will be super amazing!

What about the numbness?

It will take time to see how much the nerves and muscles can sort themselves out.

So how is Kelly Ann holding up?

With lots of grace, courage and optimism. She feels thankful that she has a great surgeon and is not paralyzed. Most do not even realize the extent of her injury because she does not complain and would not want to ask anyone for anything.

Which brings me back to...

Why I am asking for money for Kelly Ann

The doctors have said she will be disabled and unable to work for at least a year.

She has no medical insurance and the process for Medicaid Medicare and any assistance is slow. So she needs money for now. She needs money for food, gas and tolls for Grandma, who moved in to take care of her, to go back and forth to the hospital, and for when she gets out shortly to pay for supplements, supplies, and doctor visits or things she needs until her finances get straightened out.

And speaking of Grandma, she made me this costume (which I hate) and yes, I admit I bit her when she pout this stupid hat on me. And then shortly after she discovered I had peed in her open suitcase full of clothes I was sent to foster care at my friend Page's house!

As you can see this has not been easy on any of us!

Thanks for visiting and helping out my Mommy so she can just focus on getting better!!
