<div>Next weekend, Sunday 26th October, I will be running the Lausanne Marathon as a personal challenge but with a wider goal to spread awareness in support of young people's mental health. Social and professional pressures for young people are drastically growing in combination with the negative role that social media is playing in the development process of teenagers and young people. Rates of anxiety, self harm and individuals suffering from mental health issues has dramatically increased in the last few years and unfortunately may continue to do so. Loneliness is also a large scale issue that I believe affects more people than we think and in varying levels of intensity.

<div>YoungMinds UK is a mental health charity that provides important information concerning access for help, information for parents and carers, as well as promoting a positive culture around mental health discussions.

<div>Many young people struggle through their development and trying to help the young people around gives a powerful message for a positive future.
