500 Organicups for young women in Sal, Cabo Verde
The CSD-Foundation is very excited to announce a new collaboration: this time with Organicup© ! They have donated 500 menstrual cups to distribute to young local women of Sal Island, Cabo Verde, Africa. From June to August 2021 we will put our forces together to spread them in the most vulnerable areas.
Why do we want to spread Organicups on Sal?

- No more spending money on menstrual products
- Healthier for their bodies
- Not relying on natural resources
- Breaking down the taboo
Being able to go to work, school and doing other activities while having your period can be a great weight on your shoulders. Menstrual products are expensive. And using them takes a definite toll on the island’s environment. There is no ecological waste disposal on Sal Island, which is why often products end up in wastelands, the sea and protected areas.
This has to change!
Women should feel in control, and be able to continue with their daily activities without being slowed down by their natural cycle. The impact that will be made on the island will be immense for both women and the environment, which is why we need your help.
What will the CSD-Foundation do?
Educating women on how to use Organicup and what impact this will make on an economical, environmental and health’s aspect.
Distributing Organicups, starting in the most vulnerable areas of the island; the slums. Training local volunteers to empower, inspire and educate other women.
How can you help?
Financing transport costs, compensation for project volunteers, creation of photo and video content and make sure we can cover any other additional costs in order to provide 500 women with these cups!
