The Couple
Hi, we are Jon and Faith Moore founders of Tour for a Cause.
On August 31, 2019, we embarked on a journey to fulfill our dream of traveling to all 50 States in the United States.
We are traveling in our 2009 Toyota Prius to 48 States and flying to Alaska and Hawaii.
While this is an exciting opportunity for us, we wanted this trip to be about more than just us and our dreams.
And so, we have decided to use our trip to also promote childhood cancer awareness and to raise money for families with children battling cancer.
September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and since this is the time-frame our trip is starting, we thought it only appropriate to encourage others to give to this worthy cause.
The Cause
We are not asking for donations for us, instead we are asking that you help us reach a goal of $50,000 which we will divide between 50 different families who have children battling cancer. ($1,000 per family)
When you donate to our fundraiser, 100% of funds donated will go to families dealing with childhood cancer.
We will continue raising money and awareness throughout our 4 months of travel and after we finish our trip in Hawaii we will begin distributing the money by getting in touch with organizations (such as St. Jude's) that can put us in contact with families who have a child battling cancer.
We will be sharing our journey and also any stories of those we are able to help on our social media pages and here as well.
While $50K may sound like a lofty goal, we think it is a very achievable number.
Every single one of us has limitations but Faith and I believe that when we work together we can accomplish some pretty unbelievable things!
All it will take is for 100 people from each of the 50 States we visit to donate just $10 and we can very easily achieve our goal! But anyone from anywhere can donate as much or as little as they are able, making this goal that much more achievable!
We understand that there are many different non-profits and organizations that help families and children with Cancer.
We support St. Jude's and our local children's hospital and encourage people to donate to these as well.
But for our cause we would like to have the opportunity to help some families directly.
I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it must be to have a child battling something as terrible as cancer.
The stress it puts on a family not only financially but also physically is something nobody should have to face on their own.
With each family we donate to, the use of the funds will be up to their discretion, however we would like to encourage them to use the money to do something special as a family to help them get their minds off the everyday stress.
We are simply hoping to have a part in putting a smile on their face and telling them there are people who care.
But we need your help to make this happen!
The Company
Tour for a Cause was started out of our passion for travel and our desire to inspire other people to follow their dreams to travel but also to use travel as a means to do good and help other people in need.
Our hopes are to build it into a platform that provides helpful resources and information for travelers and also helps to connect people to causes that we can all have a part in to make the world we live in and love to travel a better place.
While Tour for a Cause is a for profit company, our main focus is to promote causes that people care about.
That being said, we are also trying to create a resource for travelers around the globe that can also be a source of income for us as we travel and do good.
We would really appreciate it if you could follow us on social media and share with your friends so we can have an even greater impact.
We understand that not everyone has the means to give but you can have a part in our cause by sharing this fundraiser with your friends and family and helping us spread the word.
If you decide that you would rather not donate to our fundraiser, we completely understand.
We do ask however that you consider donating to one of the many local and international organizations working to find a cure for childhood cancer.
Organizations such as St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital among others are doing a lot of good and helping so many families in need.
My wife and I personally donate to these organizations and we encourage everyone to have a part no matter how big or small.
