Jessi Dickens Memorial

In January 2018, Jessi was diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma and a type of melanoma. On March 1st, she was admitted to UT Southwestern and shortly after, Jessi and Daylan were told that Jessi had been misdiagnosed, and that what she actually suffered from was a very rare and extremely aggressive peripheral nerve sheath tumor. By the time they caught this, the tumor had taken over her body and consumed it by 90%, within 3 months it had spread to her blood, bones, lungs, and brain. Still, she wanted to fight, for her husband and her beautiful kids, Ella and Karter. She started chemotherapy, but had an adverse reaction to it. Daylan made the decision to place her on a ventilator Monday, because she was rapidly declining. Wednesday, after saying goodbye to her family and a few friends, Daylan made the choice to take her off the ventilator, and Jessi went to be with the Lord.

We rejoice that Jessi is no longer in pain and she’s walking the streets of gold with Jesus, free of this worldly disease. Her family and friends grieve in the loss of her beautiful smile and laugh. Her kids will always miss their mom, and Daylan will always have a place in his heart for the love of his life.

All we can do as a community is come together, lift our thoughts and prayers up for each one touched by her loss, and also help a now single father of two precious kids lay his wife to rest. Any amount will help, as funerals are not an easy thing to afford.
