Family Memorial Fund

Hello, my name is Lauren Geiger. The past few months have been very difficult for me and my family. On January 19, 2025, we had to say good-bye to our beloved mother, Nancy Geiger. It was a sudden tragedy and took us all by heartbreaking surprise when we had to make the decision to let her go. Mom was hospitalized with RSV, pneumonia, STAPH, STREP A, and was in septic shock. Within hours of arriving at the emergency department, Mom was placed in the ICU on a ventilator.

I stayed with her the first three days, hoping that I would see signs of improvement. Meanwhile, my father, Eugene Geiger, was also in the hospital recovering from RSV and congestive heart failure. My dad was later sent to a rehab facility to regain some of his strength and was not able to be there at Mom's bedside to say his final goodbyes. Every day I prayed to God to save my mom. My sweet, caring, loving, and beautiful mother, who we will all miss until our final days. Every day I talked to her and told her I was there with her and how much I loved her. She was just too weak to fight.

The loss of my mom was sudden, and there was no time for planning or preparation. My dad has since been back in the hospital with a skin infection and has not bounced back as quickly as his first stay. In the midst of all of this, my son also was diagnosed with a blood clot on his brain and spent ten days at Johns Hopkins.

The use of your generous donations will go to help my dad to pay for some funeral, memorial, and day-to-day expenses. He is unable to return to his job as a substitute teacher, and the cost of living is causing stress and worry to someone who is lost without his best friend and love of his life for nearly 52 years. Mom's celebration of life is being held at Grace United Methodist Church in Millsboro on April the 5th at 11 am. We hope you can join us in celebrating the life of this wonderful woman who was loved and cherished by so many.
