Jamaica Mission Trip Round 2

Hello Everyone!

I'm so excited to tell you that I will be going back to the place so close to my heart, Harmons Jamaica this winter break! I can truly say it's where my faith took a 180 and why I've become so passionate for ministry. During the 7 day trip, 60 greek students plus myself built 2 houses, supplied clothing and medical supplies and had fellowship with the locals. Going back will mean continuing friendships with not only the community of greek students, but also Jamaicans like Egbert.

I met Egbert at the infirmary. The infirmary is similar to a hospital in America, except majority of the residents never leave and their disabilities can be something as little as a broken arm to being crippled from the head down. Egbert was man I struck up conversation with because he was wearing a Cubs hat. Picture that. I'm almost 2000 miles from Chicago and I find a fellow Cubs fan.
Egbert quickly pointed me to his favorite verse; Psalm 27.
"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear..." This man is in the middle of one of the saddest places on earth and he is stronger than ever because of his faith. Egbert made me promise I would be back, despite me telling him I couldn't make any guarantees.

But now I have a chance to do just that, and I need your help!

I first ask for prayers. Although I know some of what to expect going back, this is still a leap of faith. Pray for safety traveling, the hearts of the group as a whole, and the impact made to both the Jamaicans and our group.

Secondly, I ask for financial support. The cost of the mission trip is $1530.00. I was blessed by making around $400 from my garage sale this summer, so that leaves $1130 to go. The money goes to supplies, food, lodging, and transportation, and every single dollar helps.
