Reach Out and Help a Veteran

Donation protected
Hello ,
We'd like to share a story about a Veteran and dear friend of ours, Paul Morris. Paul has diverticulitis and recently that disease reared its ugly head. He suffered a micro perforation of his colon and was admitted into the hospital in ICU. After a week of IV antibiotics Paul was sent home to heal. Unfortunately 3 days later his colon burst, sending his organs into a catastrophic shutdown. After 5 1/2 hours of emergency surgery, the doctors had stabilized his condition, although stated "things would get worse before they got better". They expected total kidney failure due to his extreme septic state, but Paul's body fought and beat those predictions. He was given a colostomy bag for 6 months to let his colon heal as parts were necrified due to the intense infection that was inside his body. Paul fought for his life and after 3 weeks in the hospital he was sent home. Because of the seriousness of his septic body cavity, he was "left open" to heal from the inside out. Another surgery has to be performed at the end of the 6 month period to reconnect his colon so as to resume a normal life. There aren't enough words to express gratitude
for the surgical team at Tampa General Hospital, they truly saved Paul's life.
After a long and painful recovery, Paul finally returned to his job he has had for 6 years. The day of his return to work he was demoted from his supervisory position and 2 weeks later an unconscionable decision was made and he was wrongfully terminated, thus losing his health insurance and cutting his lifeline to complete his medical treatment.
Paul is a veteran of Armed Forces, serving 6 years in the United States Navy, so naturally he turned to the Veterans Hospital for help. Unfortunately the Veterans Hospital is so overwhelmed with patients that a surgical date could not be promised in a reasonable time. A set timeline for the reconnection surgery was put in place by Paul's surgeons and understandably he wants to adhere to that schedule. Paul and his wife are now left with paying for the surgery completely out of pocket so we are reaching out and asking for your help in raising the money. Any amount donated, big or small will be greatly appreciated and get our friends one step closer to their goal.
They are putting their faith in God and the kindness of their family, friends, community and of total strangers to help this veteran, husband, musician and friend get his life back. Thank you for any help you can provide. God Bless.
