The Moment Our Lives Changed In 2017

To All, We need your support. To be honest words can't began to explain my true experience(s), emotions, feelings, or the courage it took to do this. The reason behind it all. Mike have an upcoming appointment at Duke Hospital in Durham, NC on January 16 and we have to stay 2 nights over. We are in need of a room, food, transportation, gas and we need help with medical expenses, and bills. We need HELP. Read my story and find out why. The Beginning of 2017. Me and my husband Mike came into the year of 2017 celebrating our 1 year Anniversary and closed out 2017 going into 2018 with him being admitted into the hospital on our 2nd Anniversary. Oh But God!!! We had several expectations and plans to do this and that in 2017. I just started a new job and had only been there for about two months and Mike was promoted on his job. We felt things was going good and life was great. Well​ life happened. Shortly in February my husband lost full sight in his right eye with 60% of his sight left in his left eye. As he is being seen by multiple doctors including specialists and different Neuro doctors and going from hospital to hospital as they are trying to figure out WHY and the CAUSE. Mike then had a stroke in May and was hospitalized following rehabilitation​ (which he's still in a day treatment 3x a week) causing his vision loss in the left eye to progress even more leaving him with less than 40% of his sight with no COLOR vision. Mike have had multiple tests done (blood work, MRI's, Cat Scans, Spinal Taps, Dye injections, nuclear injections, and the list goes on). He's been in/out the hospital, going to 2-3 doctors appointments a month (every month) seeing several different doctors, and we have traveled to MUSC in Charleston to have tests done. Still no diagnosis of the underline cause. Oh But God!!! I had to miss days from work, went through all my savings (working POOR check to POOR), he had co-payment, bills coming left & right and the bill collectors still calling. I'm​ getting late notices for everything, medical bills, disconnect notices, eviction notices, and I had no help. I would call places for help and they would say we have no funds or I don't meet the income requirements. Was even turned down from a church. I could never get help Not mention my family household income went from 3 down to 1 but this didn't stop those bills from coming. Oh But God!!!  All of this was a challenge/test of my Faith and Belief. Yes it was several nights I cried, I wanted to give up, and I asked the "Why Me Lord" question. Oh But God!!! I keep hearing Faith, Belief, and you must Trust Me (God) because you're not alone. So again I'm reaching out for help to assist with rent, utilities, transportation, room & board for Duke, and to cover medical expenses. Please donate and share. No amount is to small.
