Nayla's Fund

On December 27th, my 15 year old daughter and two of her friends were in a terrible car accident. My daughter's best friend, Nayla, (who is also 15) was critically injured in the crash and is currently on the ICU on a ventilator at a local hospital. My daughter is the brunette in the picture and Nayla is the blonde girl. Nayla suffered several broken bones, a skull fracture and her pelvis had to be surgically repaired. Nayla is showing a lot of progress and although she is still in a coma, we are very hopeful that she will open her eyes soon and that she will recover fully from all of her injuries. Nayla's mother is a single mom and does work full-time, but she had to go on FMLA during this time as she has been at Nayla's bedside every moment. Since Nayla required care at a hospital 30 miles from their home, her mother is also incurring a lot of parking fees and needs money for meals at the hospital. The cafeteria is very expensive. Nayla's care will eventually be covered by the driver's insurance, but that won't be for a long time because the doctors will need to determine the extent of Nayla's brain injury before anything can be settled. Nayla's mother needs money for her bills and expenses while she stays at Nayla's side in the hospital. It is already so stressful for her mother worrying about the unknown; fear of losing their lease and home is also another stressor they don't need.
