On 5/25/2018 Siobhan had an abdominal ct scan that changed everything. It showed a pelvic lesion on her left side. The next morning she went to her family doctor and they ordered MRIs, bloodwork and full body scan. A week later she got the news that there were in fact 2 lesions that were suspicious for being malignant. On June 5 her journey to Fox Chase to see an orthopedic oncologist began. He suspected multiple myeloma and ordered a biopsy of the pelvic lesion. After receiving the positive results they were sent to the hematology oncologist for treatment options. At this time they had a healthy bone marrow biopsy and aspirate as well as pet scan. She was lucky enough to get an appointment with a Penn expert too. He ordered more biopsies and testing.  Her right femur also has a tumor but is not cooperating for the biopsy. At this point they decided to move forward treating the plasmacytoma in her pelvic bone and monitor the femur. In order to pursue it further they would have to cut the bone open and insert plates and screws. On the afternoon of August 10 after a trip taking her mom to Wills Eye,  she couldn't move her left leg. It happened so suddenly. She was brought in by ambulance to Doylestown Hospital. They weren't sure what was going on, but after a ct scan and radiographs they think the lesion came through the cortex and caused a stress fracture. Luckily she didn't opt for the open biopsy, too. Saturday 8/11/18 Siobhan did physical therapy with a walker for the first time. They also did a lumbar MRI to check her back. The plan is to continue pt and pain management. Guess this was what Dr. Cohen, her oncologist, was warning her about and why she needed to be careful. Next week she will have the simulation which measures and gets her ready for radiation. The daily radiation treatments should start Aug 27 for 5-6 weeks. Hopefully after a few weeks of radiation the tumor will shrink and the bone will strengthen.

Of course we all  know Siobhan has an amazing husband Eric, a 13 yo daughter Tess and 11 yo twins Michael and Victor. Their lives have been rocked but they are trying to live normally in abnormal times. Siobhan is not working now (thankfully the doctor was adamant or this could have happened sooner) and will be coming home to live on their main floor or may have to stay at her parents until she can manage the steps.

As we all know Siobhan and The Jones Family will do anything for anyone, it’s our time to help them.  Since Siobhan is now unable to work, Eric is the only income they have.  We want Siobhan and her family to focus on Siobhan’s treatment and wellbeing and not the financial burden. I am hoping by doing this Go Fund Me we can help support and alleviate some of the financial burden for them.

Thank you in advance for you support and generosity.
