help Brandon's education

Hello for those of you who do not know me my name is Stephanie and I am the mother of an amazing son named Brandon. Brandon is 9 years old and has attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Although nowadays this does not seem to be very uncommon, for Brandon it has caused major struggles in his ability to excell in school. Brandon was attending solon city school district which is ranked as one of the best schools in the nation, but yet he was still having such a hard time. He was given an IEP to attempt to give him the extra help he needed to get him caught up to where he should be, but instead he was falling further behind. At the end of third grade he was at a writing level of a child that is typically in kindergarten. He was substantially behind in reading and math and was receiving intervention through out the day. Because of this intervention he was completely missing out on all science and social studies curriculum , which are the two subjects in school that actually interest him. End result I had an 8 year old that hated school, had a low self-esteem , and thought he was stupid. As any mother would know this completely broke my heart. Instead of working hard to help fix the problem he was given accommodations which made him further behind. Because he could not read or write at the level of a third grader he was given a scribe which means someone actually read his tests for him and then wrote down the answers. He only had to answer them verbally so they kept passing him along. I was pretty much told that with his IEP he was not held to the same standards as other children, only to his abilities and I Need to think about what I want for Brandon's future. My answer of course is the same as any parent, I want him to succeed and do not believe where he was at was all he was able to achieve. We all know in this world to succeed you need an education. I started exploring my options and found a private school for children with adhd and learning differences. I felt like I was applying to harvard but through many struggles we were finally accepted on Tuesday. And praise report, it is worth every bit of the sacrifice! My son loves school! He is learning, he is writing, he is doing science experiments, and he has pride in all that he has been able to achieve in the 40 days he has been attending! Oh and let's not forget he no longer feels stupid! So I will get to the point for why i am on this website. The cost of the tuition is 16,000 a year. I am a single mom and a waitress that is what I make in a year! I did my research before starting and with the 11,000 dollars in financial aid I received I could deplete my savings and pray for the jon peterson scholarship which will apply 2,500 dollars to the rest of the tuition in january, and work like crazy to make monthly payments. I had to go through a 20 day contact which cost me 2,222.00 before we could be accepted. Then I had to explore medication before we could be accepted. So instead of being accepted I had to pay for another 20 day trial. But we made it and now on Tuesday we were accepted and I received a contract and can get on monthly payments after I have signed and payed 1,800.00 that will be put toward tuition to hold his spot. I feel crushed, I have depleted my saving and can not come up with 1,800.00 up front. But at the same token as discouraged as I feel I also strongly believe that we are exactly where we are supposed to be and even though I do not have the resources there are so many people out there that do so I am humbley asking for help. Help finances not determine the success of a child, help brandon excell and get the education he needs. We have come so far and I pray that you could help us turn this road block into a little speed bump. That all of our efforts will not be in vain.
