my darling younger Irish Wolfhound, Kelly, woke up Sunday screaming in agony when he moved his neck. We went to the emergency clinic that night and got muscle relaxants & pain meds, but he was still in agony Monday. Screaming in pain, and he is NOT a screamer! So we got an emergency appointment with a neurologist. He had x-rays, blood work, MRI and neurological testing. All of that plus the emergency visit came to just under $3000. He's on pain meds, muscle relaxants and an NSAID, and is expected to be ok. He cant show in obedience, rally or the breed ring anymore, cant wear a collar or jump or roughhouse, but barring unforeseen incidents, he should be able to have a normal IW life and not need surgery.
But I am self employed, running a small telecom company. I make sure my employees are paid, then my company bills... then I get any money left over. I am lucky enough to have a care credit card that covered the emergency & Neurologist visit- but it is maxxed out. If anything else happens, I have no way of paying for it. and I have to pay THIS bill off! please donate if you can! I promise to pay it forward as I can! (the photos are a baby pic of Kelly- at about 3 weeks, and finishing his Rally Excellent title this past summer.) my baby dog!
