If you grew up in Buckhead in the fifties and sixties, then chances are you either knew or heard of Buzzy Blalock (aka Frank Wellborn Blalock III). He was a great guy with a bunch of charisma....a bit of a rascal and a turner of girls' heads!
But life didn't turn out as planned for Buzzy...not by a long shot. With every opportunity at his door step, he elected a very sad, troubled, and even crime ridden route instead. Addictions, family issues and other things led him down a tragic path including many years in prison. Later in life he has been faced with numerous health issues as well.
Today, Buzzy has been out of prison for over a decade; is clean and sober; and recovering from recent spinal surgery that has left him with chronic shoulder pain and numbness in his hands. He has major unaddressed dental issues. And, he's in need of possible knee surgery.
Other than the normal social service benefits which he has applied to receive but which won't be available for months (SSI, Medicaid, etc), Buzzy has no source of income. He is fortunate to at least have a roof over his head (for now anyway) but that's about it.
He needs our help! If you remember the great guy we all knew and loved back in the day, please consider helping him now. Even with his dire circumstances and health challenges, Buzzy is still Buzzy and he's doing the best he can to get back on his feet. But, it's going to be an extremely hard road for him.
