First of all, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generous contributions, best wishes and prayers for our dad’s recovery. We wanted to give you an update on our dad’s health since we started this campaign.
Unfortunately, things have taken a turn for the worse. After multiple renal infections, his doctors were able to pinpoint the root cause of his health problems and last week they gave us the devastating news that a 15 cm cancerous tumor (agressive adenocarcinoma) has grown in the presacral area. Due to its growth and location, this tumor can’t be operated so chemo followed by radiation therapy sessions are the only treatment options to safe his life.
He is currently back to the Hospital with an infection caused by an abscess due to the size of the tumor. The tumor created a fistula in the abdomen, it opened and is draining. The tumor is very big and necrosed for which they need to start the chemotherapy as soon as possible.
This is why it is urgent that we find the funds as soon as we can. We are trying to find financial help and assistance from Cancer treatment foundations to get his treatment started as soon as possible. At the moment we are not really sure he will be able to get the financial help he needs but we are not giving up and are doing everything we can to make it possible. Going back to Venezuela is not really an option at this point due to the terrible health crisis our country is facing and, with the shortages of medicines and adequate healthcare, it will be extremely difficult to find adequate treatment to cure him.
He has not been able to work since his health problems started so his medical bills and living expenses have started to pile up. This fund will continue to help our dad to cover his frequent doctor appointments, medications and overall living expenses while he gets treated. It can also help to pay his first round of chemo while he finds the additional financial aid he needs to cover the full treatment.
Any amount will be greatly appreciated and will definitely help our dad tremendously on his fight against cancer. We also ask for your help sharing this campaign amongst your friends and relatives.

Para empezar, queremos agradecerles desde el fondo de nuestros corazones sus contribuciones, plegarias y buenos deseos para la recuperación de nuestro papa.
Queríamos también actualizarlos y contarles cómo va nuestro papa con su tema de salud.
Desafortunadamente las cosas han empeorado. Después de múltiples infecciones renales los doctores finalmente pudieron diagnosticar cual es la causa de sus problemas. La semana pasada nos dieron la devastadora noticia de que un tumor del tipo Adenocarcinoma agresivo, de aproximadamente 15 cms de diámetro le ha crecido en el espacio presacro.
Debido a su ubicación y forma como ha crecido el tumor no se puede operar y quimioterapia, seguida de radiación, son las únicas opciones de tratamiento para salvar su vida.
En estos momentos está de regreso en el Hospital por una infección ocasionada por un absceso, ya que el tumor creó una fistula hacia el abdomen y este se le abrió y esta drenando. El tumor está muy necrosado y grande por lo que necesitan empezar la quimioterapia lo más pronto posible. Por eso la urgencia de encontrar los fondos.
Estamos tratando de encontrar ayuda financiera y asistencia de fundaciones de ayuda contra el
Cáncer para arrancar con ese tratamiento tan pronto como sea posible. En este momento no estamos realmente seguros de que vayamos a obtener la ayuda financiera que necesitamos pero estamos haciendo todo lo posible para encontrarla.
Volver a Venezuela no es realmente una opción en este momento debido a la terrible crisis de salud que se esta viviendo en nuestro país y, con la escasez de medicinas y la carencia de un sistema de salud adecuado, sería imposible garantizar el tratamiento que necesita.
El sigue sin trabajar y sus cuentas medicas y gastos para vivir ya se han acumulado bastante. Este fondo se usaría para cubrir las costosas visitas al médico, medicinas y gastos diarios mientras está siendo tratado. Podría también cubrir su primera ronda de quimioterapia mientras que encontramos la ayuda financiera para cubrir todo el tratamiento.
Cualquier cantidad que puedan aportar va a ser grandemente apreciada y va a ayudar a nuestro papa enormemente en su lucha contra el cáncer. También les pedimos si pueden continuar difundiendo esta campaña entre sus amigos y familiares.

Hello, my father's name is Jesus Acosta, and he is 52 years old. He and my mom left Venezuela a few months ago searching for a better future for us.Unfortunately, soon after he started working he had to be hospitalized.
He got an infection in the kidneys that paralyzed them, due to a mass that crashed in the sigmoid portion that generated the occlusion in the urethra and did not allow the urine to come out, they put him a nephrostomy and was hospitalized for 12 days.
After he was discharged from the Hospital, we went home and when we thought that his health was getting better he felt bad again. He is now back to the Jackson Hospital with a kidney infection. During all this time he hasn’t been able to work because he has a nephrostomy and must wait for it to be removed.
So far, we do not know how long he will be hospitalized and unable to work. He does not have a regular medical insurance, only an emergency insurance. He is really worried and stress out about his health and the difficult economic situation we are going through. It’s really hard to make the money we need to cover all the expenses.

Hola! Él es Jesus Acosta tiene 52 años, nuestro papá, salió de Venezuela para buscar un mejor futuro para nosotros, sin imaginarse que tendría que pasar por estar hospitalizado.
Le dió una infección en los riñones que los paralizo, debido a una masa que le apareció en la porción sigmoidea que generaba oclusión en la uretra y no permitía que saliera el orine, le tuvieron que hacer una nefrostomia y estuvo 12 días hospitalizado.
Le dieron de alta, nos fuimos a la casa y cuando pensábamos que iba mejorando tuvo una recaida y se encuentra nuevamente hospitalizado en el Jackson Hospital con una infección en los riñones.
Durante todo este tiempo no ha podido trabajar porque tiene la nefrostomia y debemos esperar a que se la quiten. Hasta ahora no sabemos cuanto tiempo estará hospitalizado y sin poder trabajar, no contamos con seguro médico, solo un medicaid de emergencia, los gastos se van acumulando y nuestro papá cada día está más preocupado por su enfermedad y la situación económica que estamos pasando, porque hemos hecho de todo un poco, pero con él en estas condiciones se hace muy difícil lograr conseguir para cubrir todos los gastos.
Siempre estaremos muy agradecidos por tu ayuda, no importa que tan pequeña sea tu donación, cada granito de arena cuenta. Gracias por tu generosidad, Dios te bendiga y te lo multiplique en salud.

Durante todo este tiempo no ha podido trabajar porque tiene la nefrostomia y debemos esperar a que se la quiten. Hasta ahora no sabemos cuanto tiempo estará hospitalizado y sin poder trabajar, no contamos con seguro médico, solo un medicaid de emergencia, los gastos se van acumulando y nuestro papá cada día está más preocupado por su enfermedad y la situación económica que estamos pasando, porque hemos hecho de todo un poco, pero con él en estas condiciones se hace muy difícil lograr conseguir para cubrir todos los gastos.
