Help Erinn Empower Ugandan Youth

Donation protected
For those who do not know me, my name is Erinn Hagan. I was born and raised on the west-side of Cleveland, OH, and graduated from the University of Dayton in 2014. I am in my fourth year of teaching, three of which have been in an integrated preschool classroom. Teaching has, and will always be, my passion. I am the firm believer in the power of education, and that a quality education is something that each and every human, deserves.

For those who do know me, welcome...and get ready to read! :)

I have been incredibly fortunate in my academic endeavors over the years, which led me to the STAIRS Cleveland program (now Refugee Services Collaborative of Greater Cleveland) at the beginning of my Sophomore year of high school. I began volunteering my time as a tutor in an after-school program for children and adolescent refugees from Africa. I remember feeling an instant connection with the students being serviced, as well as an immediate calling to "do more good" on a greater scale. It was at this point that I began discussing my desire and need to travel to Africa, to work with and empower youth, through education, with just about anyone who would listen.

Fast forward a decade, and here we are. I am incredibly fortunate to have been given the opportunity to spend just under three weeks in Uganda, this upcoming June! I will be part of a team working in refugee camps, school settings, and communities, with the main purpose of empowering youth. Words truly fail to express the gratitude I have for this opportunity!

In sharing my excitement for my upcoming trip, I have had several people ask if/how they could help my cause..leading to the creation of this fundraiser! Through a few side jobs, I have saved enough money to cover my airfare for the trip. I am turning to friends and family to help cover other expenses such as housing, food, medical expenses/preventative care, in addition to mosquito nets, reusable (fabric) sanitary napkins, materials to build sanitary wash stations, etc. for the youth in the communities we will serve in Uganda.

Any size donation is greatly appreciated and every little bit truly helps. If you cannot donate at this time, would you please consider sharing this link with family and friends? Thank you!

Here's to a positive, successful, and empowering 2018!
