Returning to Haiti, as a family!

We are going to Haiti!
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matt 28:19-20
God began a work in Brian’s heart, and then in Rachel’s heart as we spent time in Haiti on separate trips several months ago. We want to share with our girls the beautiful country of Haiti and the experiences of serving a people who are yearning for Jesus. We will be returning to Port Au Prince, Haiti, this time all 5 of us, in June 2014.
Our Mission:
We want for our own children to see the wonders of God’s creation and to get away from their own personal reality and see how others live. We anticipate the unique way in which we will be knit even closer as a family through this experience we will share. We are grateful and excited that we are finally able to embark on a journey that we have been desiring for our family since before we were a “we”!
Through this trip we desire to love on His sons and daughters through visiting and praying for the sick children at the main Port Au Prince hospital, teaching mothers about nursing and newborn care and distributing supplies, partnering with WYAM to give out hygiene packs and visit prisoners in the St. Marc prison, hosting a kids crusade and marriage seminar at the community church, leading worship and prayer movements alongside local ministers and musicians, and last but not least- by playing with and loving on some little ones at God’s Littlest Angels Orphanage. We will also be going to visit our new little friend, Widlove. She is an 8-yr. old little girl living in the Haitians Helping Haitians ministry home. Our girls have been excited to meet her as we have been Skyping with her and communicating over Facebook!

We welcome your support! We need your prayers above all. Taking a family of five to a third world country will be no small feat—but we believe God will be with us! Pray for us as we prepare for this special trip.
Also, if you are led, consider supporting the trip financially. It will cost $1400 per person for flight, room & board, and ministry needs. We plan to raise this money by working hard to earn it through some creative ideas, like babysitting nights and odd jobs, selling some crafts and possessions, and raising awareness through venues such as GoFundMe.com, email and social media!
We will also be collecting hygiene supply donations like soap, toothbrushes/toothpaste, for the prisoners, and baby supplies for new moms and new moms in the maternity ward of the hospital --think pads, baby formula, diapers, wipes, diaper cream, onesies etc. This was my favorite way to serve during my last trip! We will also be giving out goodie bags to all of the children during the kids crusade. So any little trinket or small toys would be great. The girls would like to teach the kids how to make those rubber band bracelets that are so popular now. So if you think of it, pick up a pack or 2 of those colorful mini rubber bands—I’m sure we’ll need a bunch! Let me know and I can tell you specifically which rubber bands!
