Newborn Gavin Needs Our Help

My name is Jessica Devendorf and I am writing this on behalf of my very best friend of almost 30 years, Heather Bulla (Wilsey) and her fiancé Jim Olin. Heather found out she was pregnant on April 30, 2017. On August 11, 2017 while still in utero it was discovered that the baby has down syndrome as well as some heart issues one being VSD (ventral septal defect). This is a defect resulting from an abnormal connection between the lower chambers of the heart. After countless sonograms and echocardiograms, it was also discovered that the baby has truncus arterious with an aortic interruption. With these factors combined, the best course of action was determined to be heart surgery as soon as possible after birth. Gavin was born on December 20th 2017 and now the entire family has a long road to travel. Mom is out of work and spending every moment she can in the ICU taking care of Gavin. Dad is working two jobs to try to make ends meet. Gavin’s 2 older siblings and Grandparents are also trying to lend a hand around the house and with their youngest sibling who is only 1 year old. The family isn't looking for a hand out but they definitely could use some help. Gavin is scheduled for surgery in Rochester in the next few weeks and the family has been told by doctors he will be in the hospital for a month at minimum to recover. I'm trying to raise funds to cover travel and lodging expenses for mom to be able to stay with Gavin during surgery and throughout recovery. Any help at all is greatly appreciated, thank you.
