Karl's hospital nightmares

On OCT4th,Karl woke up with a migraine. He took an advil.He complained of chest pain and looked like he was having a heart attack. We live 5 miles from the hospital so we drove to the ER. He was checked for his heart and was told that there is no heart attack but he has pancreatitis and that his kidneys are failing. So he was admitted to the hospital. The next night his kidneys failed. They did work on him to save him and he was put into the ICU. The next day he came down with what's called C-DIF, which can kill you. It is very infectious. The hospital staff said that the hospital did look into how he might have contracted the C-DIF and they think it came from the ER. So he went thru 4 kidney dyalisis. He spent a week in the ICU, being very drugged for pain. After the treatments his kidneys are now working! So the hospital moved Karl to a new room, to keep an eye on his kidneys. After another week the hospital took out the ports and IV's that Karl no longer needed. And that's how they think they gave him a staff infection! So now he's spiking fevers like 103. Karl is a diabetic and so his immune system is very weak. In the mean time his office sent me papers for his short term disability, which I called and was told that Karl did not qualify for since he's only worked for that company 9 months and you have to work for them 12 months to qualify.Karl is a consultant which means he only gets paid for the time he works. No work,no pay. So we have NO $ coming in. No $ from the insurance that we've been paying into. And we have bills just like every one else. We gave out our bank account to help our kid with her car.So we have no savings.We're now 3 weeks at the hospital. Still no answers about his fevers. They do blood work almost every day. And today is Karl's 54th birthday! He's still in alot of pain and he's stuck in his room all day with a tv to keep him company. We don't know when he'll be able to come home.Our insuarence will pay for some of his medical but not all and I had to cancel or put a hold on our bills.The utilities were nice enough to give me a few weeks to catch up. Our landlord will let me pay the rent late with a late fee. My car payment is due and I just don't know what to do. Karl has enough to deal with. So he does'nt know what I'm dealing with. I just want for him to come home.
