<div>Hello, my name is Grether Quintosa. I’m a mother of two beautiful children: Rocío Pérez, who is 12 years old, and Alex David Pérez, who is 4. I’ve been living in the United States for four years now, doing everything I can to build a safe and stable life for my family. Like so many immigrants, we have worked tirelessly every single day to provide a better future for our children.

<div>But today, I’m facing an extremely difficult and heartbreaking situation. Six months ago, my husband — the foundation of our home — was detained by immigration (ICE). He is currently going through a deportation process under I-220A, and sadly, his asylum case was denied.

<div>What breaks my heart even more is that our 12-year-old daughter, Rocío, is included in her father’s deportation case. She is not a U.S. citizen, and if her father is deported, she could be forced to leave the country with him. Meanwhile, our youngest son, Alex David, is an American citizen. The possibility of our family being torn apart, and of our children being separated, is a nightmare I can’t begin to describe.

<div>We have already paid for two lawyers. The second one let us down badly and took our money without helping us. Now, we urgently need to hire a new attorney — one who can truly fight to keep our family together. But without help, that may not be possible.

<div>Right now, I am on my own. I work hard, but I can no longer afford rent, bills, food, and legal fees. We are on the verge of becoming homeless, and I’m barely managing to feed my children.
