Help Boady Santavy to the Youth Olympics

Donation protected

Boady Santavy is a up and coming Olympic Weightlifter from Sarnia Ontario, Canada. Boady is now the 2014 Junior Canadian Champion and is not funded by the Canadian Weightlifting Federation. Boady is the top ranked youth lifter in the country, which is 17 years old and under. In order to qualify for the Youth Olympics next August in Nanjing, China, Boady must compete down in Chiclayo, Peru in May 2014.
Boady represented Canada in Cancun, Mexico last year and took the Bronze Medal at the Pan-American Championships and is now ranked top 10 in the world :) As a Sport with little-to-no funding for athletes wanting to reach their goals and represent thier Country, the process is difficult...to say the least. Your funding support will help Boady get to Peru this May, so he can exhaust all our opportunity to get him to the Youth Olympics. The Olympic qualification is an utter failure for the up and coming athletes of this county and to other countries world wide. In short I will try to explain..... In order to guarantee a spot at the Youth Olympics a country must have a team of roughly 8 people in ALL weight classes, they must compete at the continental qualifier in Peru or at the previous Youth World Championships (held last year) and place high enough as a WHOLE in order to qualify even one spot at the Games. We did not have the funds in order for Boady to make the trip to the Youth Worlds that where held in Kazakhstan so he had to miss out on the first qualifier and now we must get to Peru for a last chance at making the Games. Ridiculous to say the least, because this sport is not even a team sport. So with that being said, when Boady Santavy goes to Peru and places himself tops in the World, he still may not be able to represent Canada and a kid from another Country that lifts considerably less than Boady may get the opportunity to compete. This is unbelieveable. So if that Country declines to use their spot at the Games then the International Federation could give that spot to Canada and maybe just maybe they will give it to Boady who is top 10 in the world.
Dispite all that negativity "we" (Boady -athlete and myself Dalas- coach) will not let that distract us from the goal at hand and Boady will train his butt off to prove to the world he should be at the Youth Olympics to represent this great country of ours! Recently Boady has increased his size and the amount of weight he is lifting so its looking very promissing for him to win a medal in Peru and that may set him up to represent Canada at the Youth Olympics this summer ! So we greatly appreciate your financial support to give Boady Santavy every opportunity to get himself to the Olympic qualifier down in Peru ; in hopes of getting a spot at the Youth Olympics next year! We will not give up on HIS chances of getting there even though the path is a difficult one!!!
THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE :)
