Pete Green (Travis) Final journey fund.
Pete was taken from us suddenly and tragically in a house fire on the 27th of June. In Wymondham, Norfolk.
During his amazing and colourful life he touched so many souls and warmed many a heart.
His absence will be missed by so many; around the camp fire, behind his incense stall, binding books, reading or teaching Tarot, in council meetings, scaring anyone who dared attend Prime Evil, and by all who have heard his voice boom through the town as the town crier.
Naturally, there will be an empty space at the bars and pubs of Wymondham. With his ability to while away the cold nights - he kept us all amused and amazed by his tales. He will be a voice deeply missed by everyone.
To his local grandchildren he was 'Grandad Dinosaur' because of his time as a dinosaur keeper at the park. He held the deepest knowledge of all things ancient and was passionate about passing on everything he knew. Even if the kids didn't really understand, they would sit in awe, listening.
To us, his sons, he will always be 'Dad'.
We are hoping to raise funds to help give our father, your friend, the send-off he truly deserves. We would like a memorial that reflects his character and to truly honour the man he was.
To be honest, we were not prepared for his passing and there are no funds to pay for his funeral.
Our base target is to arrange a basic funeral to be held locally to Wymondham, for all to attend. This will cost around £3,500.
It would be amazing if we can add extra funds to this, we could then expand to maybe include a horse-drawn carriage hearse to reflect his passion for steampunk to walk him through the town centre? We could ask the Green Dragon to put on food for around 100 people?
Together, we could all make his final journey one to be talked about at the bars and pubs for many years to come. If we can, we will, and any funds above target will be used towards this goal.
The funeral date is yet to be confirmed. The wake will be held in the Green Dragon (Thank you!).
