Hi I am one of the Girls in Avation Day event planners for our Women in Aviation-Bluegrass Chapter in louisville, KY. This will be our 5th annual Girls in Aviation Day event being held on Saturday, September 23 from 12-4pm at Bowman Field. This is a free event open to everyone but our main focus area are girls ages 8-17 years old. We hope to inspire and support the next generation of aviation and aerospace professionals in our local area. We hope to reach as many young girls and their families as possible in our community to introduce them to all the wonderful and vast career opportunities in this amazing industry. Unfortunately, we recently learned that this year we can not depend on our local large company to fianancially support this event like they have since 2018. We are hoping that local businesses and individuals will fill this huge need for us so that we can host a fantastic event for the 5th year. This event attracted over 400 people last year and we are expecting at least that or more this year. We are a non profit 501(c)3 and all donations are tax exempt. The funds donated will go towards vendor fees to put on the event and also donated to our Girls in Avation Day scholarship fund. We hope to award learn to fly scholarships at our event this year.
