Hello!
My name is Katrise Watson! I am a student at American River College, and I am studying to become a nurse! These past two years I have been a part of the Rock of Roseville Discipleship Community RLC. Through this internship I have learned so much about my identity as a daughter of God and as a leader in the church and in the body of Christ. I have gained so much perspective on what it looks like to love Jesus with all my heart, and I have been able to incorporate this into my worship and life with Jesus!
This coming July I have been given the amazing opportunity through RLC to go to China for 5 weeks! We will be specifically going to Kunming, Dali to support our fellow missionaries Gunner & Emily McQuerry and Preston Naramore! For a long time the Lord has put China on my heart and I had been given the opportunity to go last year for the first time for two weeks! During my time there I learned so much about what it truly means to be a missionary. It is a huge sacrifice, and you learn to die to yourself daily to obey what the Lord is asking you to do. Never before had I been so challenged by the Lord and so convicted about the way I live my life. I learned that being on mission is a daily choice and way of living. I also made some awesome Chinese friends, and I am so excited to return this summer to continue to build relationships and reach people who have never heard of Jesus!
The Lord commanded us to go to all of the nations and preach the gospel. Unfortunately going to all the nations is not cheap. I need to raise $1200 by January 27th out of the total cost of $3500. The first deadline is to pay for plane tickets before prices rise extensively! What I ask of you is to ask the Lord if he wants you to be a part of this giving process. You are not just giving to a student so that I can go on a cool vacation to another county, but you are sowing into the kingdom and being a part of God’s command to reach all of the nations! Please pray that even now God would be preparing the hearts of the people we will be ministering to and that he would provide for everyone on my team!
