Hogar Sagrado Corazon Christmas Fund

Dear Family and Friends,
¡Saludos de Bolivia! Welcome to Hogar Sagrado Corazón, an orphanage located in the hot, dusty city of Montero in the lowlands of Bolivia.
The Hogar is run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and is home to over 120 girls, between the ages of 0-20. Our girls come to the orphanage for a variety of reasons. Some come from parents who are unable to support them financially, some from abusive homes; others were abandoned by their parents through death or other circumstances. The Hogar provides the girls with meals, clothing, education, health services, recreational activities and religious development.
As part of our ministries here at the Hogar, my site partner Antoinette Moncrieff and I were given the responsibility of raising all of the funds for Christmas, which includes purchasing gifts and throwing the Christmas day party for 120 girls! We intend on purchasing each girl a new outfit for church (including underwear and socks), a toothbrush and floss, a backpack and other school necessities, and hair accessories. In addition, we hope to buy a large gift for each dormitory to share, as well as prepare a nice Christmas breakfast for the girls.
We have set a goal to raise $5000 by December 12 and we need your help! Would you be interested in helping make a difference in our girls' lives by donating to our Christmas fundraiser? Any amount can and does make a huge difference!
I know that many of you have asked to donate items, but since the shipping is outrageous, it truly is best to send money so that half of your money is not spent on merely shipping the items!
