Mike Veto Recovery Fund

My name is Kara Kowert and I’m a friend of Mike and Bee’s (I was Bee’s belly dance instructor but that’s a story for another day). I’m also a technology professional and Bee’s unofficial webmaster. If you have been following Mike’s valiant fight against brain cancer on Bee’s Facebook page as I have for the past year, you can’t help but feel moved by what Mike and Bee have suffered. After surgery and tremendously painful radiation treatments, Mike seemed to be out of the woods and on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, that road has been diverted by a recent setback and second emergency surgery. Mike survived, thank goodness, but his recovery will now be more difficult and expensive. He will require 3 types of therapy, 3 times a week; he will have limited mobility and impaired balance; he won’t be able to return to work. As the sole breadwinner, Bee will have her hands full with work and caring for Mike. Please consider giving a monetary donation to help Bee care for Mike during his recovery. The money may be used for living expenses such as buying food, paying the mortgage or other household bills. Insurance doesn’t always cover all of the therapeutic devices so some of the donations may be used to purchase what is needed to help Mike remain comfortable as he gets stronger and regains “normal” functions. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small and several small donations can and will add up to make a big difference to Mike and Bee.
