Mobility For Rita

I am Aaron Peaster and this campaign is for my sister Rita Peaster. Rita has had a different journey in life than many of us. At the age of 12 she underwent a series of back surgeries to straighten her spine from scoliosis. That was a positive thing for her and gave her a straight although rigid back. Some years later we knew she was having difficulty performing normal tasks that involved walking and raising her arms. After numerous doctor visits she was diagnosed with limb girdle muscular dystrophy. That was about 18 yrs ago. Rita has courageously lived as normal of a life as possible providing for herself and displaying amazing grit and perseverance. Several years ago she purchased a mobility scooter and van with a lift to haul her scooter. This has been a great help and blessing to her. She still works part time accounting for various local businesses in GA but her income doesn’t allow for the needed vehicle upgrade. It has become too difficult to walk from the rear of the van after loading the scooter and Rita and her family feel like it is time to move to the next level of mobility. The van pictured would allow her to park her scooter inside the vehicle via side ramp and would eliminate he need to walk around the vehicle. With her trade and what she has saved she still needs $18,000. May God richly bless any and all who feel to help Rita with this need.
