Medical Mission Trip to Guatemala

I have been given the incredible opportunity to join a medical mission trip in October to San Raymundo, Guatemala through Refuge International.
I will be traveling with advance practice nursing students from Case Western's FPB School of Nursing, as well as joined by three of my nurse anesthesia classmates.
The clinic at San Raymundo is able to provide vital surgeries, health exams, pediatric wellness exams, pharmacy services and more to the people of Guatemala. Locals walk for miles and line up hours in advance of our arrival to seek medical care that they so desperately need.
The clinic in San Raymundo has four operating rooms where I will be spending most of my time. There is typically an orthopedic surgeon, general surgeon and OB/GYN. The most common surgeries performed at the clinic are hernia repairs, hysterectomies and gallbladder removals.
This trip will be eye-opening and life changing. Through Refuge International I will have the opportunity to help the impoverished people from some of the most remote locations in Guatemala.
The funds raised for my trip will go towards the trip fees and flights. Any additional funds raised will be donated to Refuge International. Your support would mean so much to me, enabling me to make a difference in the lives of the Guatemalan people.
