Since 2003, approximately 100 young people have been initiated into adulthood through rituals of the Sacred Fire Community.
Our powerful Lifeways Initiation program prepares our youth to live a life of value and purpose. The Sacred Fire Community believes it's essential to provide ongoing support to these initiated youth to help them navigate the realities of adulthood in a world out of balance. We intend to provide them with direct one-on-one mentoring for a full four years so that they will stand up for a different vision of the future.
The Sacred Fire Community is launching its Mentoring Program in December, 2013. The program will initially provide mentoring to 14 initiates. Dr. Tom Balistrieri, a therapist and university counselor with a rich background in indigenous culture is training our mentors. You can find out more about Tom at www.passagetransformation.com.
We need your help! To launch this program, we need $15,000 by the end of this year. Consider sponsoring a mentor for a full year of expenses at the $1,000 level. Any gift you can make will be a gift to a better future.
We have already done so much together. We know that the future relies on the spiritual health of our youth.
