The Musson family Christmas Fund

PLEASE SEE UPDATE AND NEW LINK BELOW *

For almost everyone in Burlington and surrounding areas we all know of the Musson home on Spruce in Burlington. It's been a family tradition for so many for a long time. Often referred to as the Burlington Griswold house, every year it just keeps getting better and better and every year every burlingtonian keeps the tradition and has to go see the Musson Christmas light display. Sadly, this family has experienced tragedy once before with the loss of their beloved son and brother Cam. A motorcycle in his honour displayed out front and now heartbreak has struck the family again. On Monday December 18th Doug Musson beloved father and Burlington's man with the most Christmas spirit was up a ladder trying to fix a leak to avoid water dripping on its visitors heads when he tragically fell off the ladder. Sadly, he passed away later in hospital. The family is struggling financially and will need the communities support. For funeral costs, bills , anything they would need as well as the hope to keep the lights aglow in memory of the man who made everyone's Christmas around him merry and bright. Please give what you can and show this family how much we truly appreciate their families love of the holidays and allowing us to make this a part of our traditions in past years and many to come. And To Doug Thank you for bringing so many families together, for memories and laughter and the love of Christmas through your eyes.

To everyone. Thank you for your overwhelming support and kind messages showing your appreciation to Mr. Doug Musson. We have surpassed our goal thanks to your generosity. I had started this page not knowing this family personally but because for many many years I like so many of you have visited and enjoyed the house in Burlington covered in lights. It has become a tradition for so many of us.
A friend of the family (Elizabeth) has also created a gofundme page and being as she knows the family personally I feel it appropriate that she take over and continue to raise funds to help with Mr. Musson's funeral arrangements, families needs and hope to keep the lights aglow to allow so many of us to keep the homes love for Christmas in our family traditions.
Below is Elizabeth's link to the gofundme page that will continue to collect funds for the family. This one will be closed and money will be given the Joanne, Doug's wife. With many thanks from the family for your continued support and generosity.
