Aujha’s Renal Surgery

On Christmas Eve, 2017 I received news that until now, I’ve been really private about. I went in to the emergency room because I was having digestive issues, abdominal pain, joint pain, and nausea. They ran a CT scan of my abdomen, and I was later told I had a renal mass which they believed to be Renal Cell Carcinoma. This was in no relation to my actual symptoms, and considered an “accidental finding”. Just hearing the words carcinoma, I felt the tears forming in my eyes. Losing my mother to adenocarcinoma at 19 years old, (my mother only being 45) I questioned if at 26 years old I would meet a similar fate. I continued my journey to find out what this mass was and why I have been feeling so bad for so long. Recently I had an MRI and it revealed that I also had swollen lymph nodes and a cyst in my right kidney alongside the mass. It has been a year later, and after numerous tests, physical, emotional, and financial investments, the time for surgery has come. Although it wasn’t the best news to get on Christmas Eve, I still consider myself blessed. I still don’t know the cause of my pain and joint abnormalities but with help I can fix what I do know. With a small donation I can finally remove the 2.3 cm mass that is attached to my right kidney and hopefully the cyst as well.
