Gone Way Too Soon: Veronica Leyva

My best friend and our compadre “Concrete Rene” Leyva is currently going through one of the worst experiences of his life, on Friday, December 15th, 2017 in the very early morning hours Rene got the phone call that his wife Veronica Leyva had passed away due to complications with diabetes and kidney failure in her sleep. To our wind farm family that know our lifestyle he of course was states away in Iowa working on a job, knowing that his wife had been fighting her battle for years but never thinking she was going to be taken so soon at only 33 years young. Rene was on path to be Veronica’s donor as he was going to give her one of his kidneys but as with everything these things take time and Rene was currently going through all the testing needed. Veronica leaves behind four kids Zeke 17, Marivel 16, Liset 13 and Joel 4 and of course her husband and now single father, Rene. We know it’s Christmas time and everyone is planning to spend time and money with family and loved ones but we are asking for everyone’s help in helping our family (The Leyva’s) and the closets person I (Al) have as a brother as he has been through so much already with trips back and fourth home, hospital bills, child care and now the high expense of having to bury his wife far to soon. We know with the holidays times are a bit tougher but any little bit will help. The total funeral expenses are coming out to $13,500. We truly appreciate you all and thank you in advance for anything amount you and your families are willing and able to give.
