Coco fighting for his life.

My wife, like any good mother of two dogs and a 6 MO old wanted to go for a walk. I was at work so my wife put our son into his carrier, leashed up the two dogs and proceeded out. Once you close the front door there is a gate that we have to go through to access the front of the home. As my wife walked out the gate two children (13 y/o and a 9 y/o, an age where they shouldn’t walk an aggressive dog alone) where walking their dogs across our front lawn, a Shar-Pei and a Chihuahua. Coco, the Toy Yorker, broke from the leash and went up to these dogs at a distance and barked, as most small dogs do to larger ones. The Shar-Pei (a known aggressive breed) decided to lash out and attack our tiny dog (6lbs) with the chihuahua closing in behind. The aggressors attacked and bit Coco puncturing his ABD, back, front legs, neck, and face. The Shar-Pei ended up grabbing Coco thrashing his head and flinging Coco onto the ground where Coco became unresponsive. The dogs backed off at this time seeing that Coco appeared to be dead. This entire ordeal happened in mere moments that my wife replays in her head over and over. There has been limited communication with the owners. They have also expressed that they will not assist in any medical bills, they believe that they are not at fault. Coco is currently at a hospital being treated for his wounds. They where able to stabilize him during the day but he crashed at night and had to be resuscitated. He was intubated over night until 10:00am 12/15. We are currently waiting for him to get his CT scan to see if he will need surgery. Due to high medical bills we are asking for help.
