Help Mother With ALS (Lou Gerhig's)

Donation protected
Hello everyone. On November 16th, 2017, our mother of 56 years old was diagnosed with the terminal illness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) otherwise known as Lou Gerhig's Disease. ALS is a rare disease progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. There is no cure or significant treatment for the disease. The degeneration has affected her speech as well as mobility with walking. She recently has started the new drug Radicava which is one of the only treatments available, proven to slow the progression of nerve degeneration by a few months.

Our mother, Julie, comes from an Irish lower middle class family who immigrated to the United States from Ireland during the early 1900's. With a deep interest in her family genealogy, growing up there was always a rooted yearning to visit Ireland where her family came from. Both of her sons (Ted and Mike) do not have close to the ability to fund such a trip soon before the degeneration gets worse and so that she can enjoy every minute to the fullest with her loving husband and sons.

We are blessed to have the ability to create such a gofundme so that out of the deepness of others hearts (especially during this holiday season) can help her experience her lifelong dream before the disease progresses. If you know Julie, we are trying our best to keep this a surprise for both our parents to enjoy together.

Thank you and God bless.
