Kenya Volunteer Trip

Hello everyone!! I am very excited to announce that I am once again traveling to Africa to volunteer. This year I will be visiting Kenya for 2 weeks, leaving on January 7th 2014. I will be volunteering in an orphanage with The work I will be doing is described by the organization as:

"This will include plenty of practical work, helping with the everyday running of the orphanage, such as cleaning, laundry, cooking and the dishes; as well as helping with development of the orphanage's facilities (i.e. painting classrooms, gardening).
Perhaps the most valuable work you will do, however, will simply be spending time with the orphans: playing with them, helping with homework and getting to know them. Volunteers can help to provide the individual care and attention which overworked orphanage staff cannot always do themselves. Forming friendships and helping to foster a sense of family and community is hugely beneficial, as this is something many of the children will have lacked their entire lives. As well spending time with the children on an informal basis, we encourage you to organise games and evening activities."

If you would like to donate to my trip below is a breakdown of my expenses:
Airfare $900
Program cost $570
Children's Toys/Books $200
