Help for Anzalone Family

Donation protected
Last Monday, the Stonewood Condominiums located in Norwalk suffered a terrible fire that unfortunately has displaced over 54 families without a home, and even more unfortunate, right at the time of the holidays. While no one was seriously harmed during this fire, the devastating toll this has on all involved will surely leave a permanent scar which hopefully heals in a timely manner through the act of giving and kindness shown by so many members of our community as well as surrounding communities near and far.

One family in particular who has been affected by this tragedy happens to be close lifelong friends of mine, Steph and Allie Anzalone. Steph, a single mother, who exhibits nothing but kindness and warmth for all who enter her home; and Allie, Steph’s daughter, a caring and intelligent young lady who has a beautiful singing voice similar to Mariah Carey. While their individual unit was on the far side of the fire, their home has extreme water damage from the fire being extinguished and they will not be able to return for an undetermined amount of time, if even able to return. The majority of their belongings are destroyed and what little they were able to salvage is all they are left with right now. To make matters worse, the homeowners insurance policy that Steph had for their unit unfortunately expired shortly before this fire occurred. I think we could all relate in saying that no one expects something like this to take place right before a minor lapse in coverage which is just as easy to slip from our minds as is necessary doctors appointments and other miscellaneous bill due dates.

With that being said, friends and family have opened their doors for both Steph and Allie to have a warm place to stay temporarily, while others have already given bags of clothing and other necessities for the ladies to hold onto.

To find some comfort during this painful time as well as during the holiday season,  I am creating this Go Fund Me with the hopes of receiving enough money for Steph and Allie to secure a rental residence for the next 12 months; meaning first month, last month, security deposit and any other amounts exceeding to go towards the remainder of their rental agreement. I  have already reached out to a few local realtors who are busy looking for locations that would be ideal and within a reasonable budget for Steph and Allie. Let’s all come together to find these two a home they could call home again.

Any amount, large or small, is so deeply appreciated and will ultimately be the reason Steph and Allie feel safe and sound again.
