Michaela's story

If anyone can find a place in their heart to help this young couple, it would mean the world. Anything helps, no matter the amount. Michaela has been battling sickness ever since she was a young age. After years of complications, pain, tears, and not knowing what was wrong she was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and Crohns at 14. She spent weeks, even months in the hospital battling this. It took a huge toll on her life, especially as a teenage girl. She became so sick she ended up being homeschooled as a freshman, missing out on so many experiences. Eventually after trying several different medications, high doses of steroids, and chemo we realized no medicine was going to help her. The last option was to have three life changing surgeries. As much as she was scared she just wanted it to be "over" and made the decision to go ahead with the life changing surgeries, with the support of family and friends. It was hard of course, living with a colostomy & ileostomy bag for another year, and eventually being told she would have little to no chance of ever having children. She was heartbroken ..to say the least. It is now a year later after lots of prayers to Heavenly Father she is expecting a baby boy with her husband, Tyshawn Willis. This was such a blessing but the pregnancy has been far from easy. In her first trimester Michaela was put on bed rest and treated with a threatened miscarriage, unsure of what has caused this and the complications. For the past month or so Michaela has been in extreme pain.Saturday she was admitted into the hospital and was told she would be put under to see what was going on that could put her and her son at risk and sent her into preterm labor, Also Fears of a worsening condition and reliving years of medical treatment.
