Funeral Services #AkraStrong

Update:
Anthony has passed away December 20th after a hard long fought battle at the hospital, God decided it was his time to come home.
No more pain, no more suffering but peace within himself. I love everyone who has supported and shown love in these hard times. The funeral will be expensive and I believe as we are all his family, we need to come together for him one last time and take care of the costs.

Thank you all!

On Sunday December 10th one of my best friends got into a car accident that left him with a broken neck. When I arrived on scene to see him laying there was devastating. I ran over to him and his first words to me were “Goob, I love you bro! But I can’t move.” Hearing him say that broke my heart.Anthony and I grew up together in Hamtramck. In high school I was made fun of a lot for the fact that I had only one pair of shoes for school, basketball and church. The shoes were not in the best shape and had a few holes. One day before basketball practice Anthony pulled me to the side and pulled out a pair of Adidas basketball shoes. I asked him what they were for and he said “Goob, you know you my mans right?” I said “yea, of course.” Anthony handed me the shoes and said “Bro I want you to have a pair of my shoes, and I don’t want you to tell anyone that I gave them to you” I took the shoes and put them on proudly. I wasn’t proud because I had a new pair of shoes, I was proud because I had a friend who was humble, selfless, and cared about me wholeheartedly. I could never express how much that meant to me and how much it still does to this day. When anyone needed a friend Anthony was there. If you were having a bad day, Anthony knew the right things to say to get you laughing. If you needed some advice or just wanted to talk, Anthony was there. Anthony always brought people together. Regardless of the situation Anthony was always there, so now I’m asking for everyone to be there for him! Fearing the worst, doctors told us that he may be paralyzed from the neck down for the rest of his life. Following his first surgery, he regained feeling in his chest and throughout his shoulders. However, he still has many surgeries to go and even then they still may not help him walk again. I’m creating this gofundme because this is my way of helping Anthony in his time of need. I know the medical bills are going to be hard on him and his family, especially with him not being able to work and his parents spending a lot of time in the hospital with him. Whatever you can give will be more than appreciated and even if you can’t donate, sharing this gofundme will be a tremendous help!#PrayforAnt#AkraStrong
