Puerto Rico My Home Away from Home

As a young VISTA volunteer 1972-4 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico , I was a stranger WARMLY received into the church, school and families. La Isla me encanta! Los Puertorriqueños brought me back to my faith with pick up truck masses in neighborhood parking lots led by priests who were no longer welcomed in their churches. I was taken into strangers’ homes with absolute joy/gozo at table, singing music, taught salsa dancing and loved like I feared I might never find in my life. NOW the huracán María has demolished, devastated la Isla/island and killed at least 1052 people and deaths are occurring daily. WE ARE ALL SISTERS AND BROTHERS and I ask you to help me raise money for WHATEVER might be needed. Housing repairs, funeral costs, clean water systems, medical supplies, electricity, baby food and supplies, school items, road and bridge repairs, businesses repaired, transportation. All is gone in most remote villages/aldeas. IMAGINE!
