Meet Randy. This is my amazing Dad. A fun, kind, compassionate & loving man. These are among many of his wonderful qualities. He's been the definition of hard working & spiritual his entire life. A skilled craftsman for more then 45 years, he built his own construction company and made his own way very successfully. His buisness flourished and he is known as one of the most respected high end construction company's around. He recently retired last April, in 2024. He was just adjusting and settling into retirement when everything took a turn for the worst.
It was later around Thanksgiving 2024 when the symptoms first hit like a freight train. Chronic pain in his shoulder area landed him a diagnosis of severe arthritis. With help from our wonderful chiropractor the pain eased and we thought we were on the up and up. Then more serious symptoms began to present... heart palpitations, lower extremity edema and exhaustion. In 10 days, through 3 different hospitals Dad has endured 21 different medical test procedures and 121 different blood screenings all with the diagnosis of compromised kidney function. If that weren't struggle enough he's also been diagnosed with a vegetative growth on his Aortic heart valve that has infected his blood and circulatory system. Parts of this mass have broken off causing mini strokes as well. He's a real trooper if I've ever seen one. All of this bring us up to date with his final diagnosis: bacterial blood infection & Aortic heart valve replacement surgery.
Dad's surgery is being scheduled tomorrow, 4/3/25. Unless something unexpected arises. Our family is requesting help through go-fund me to try and cover costs that Medicare won't be covering... I can only imagine all these tests and blood panels alone are so expensive. Then you add the hospital stay, amenities & cost for the IV antibiotics to fight this nasty infection that's taken over his heart valve. We were curious what an Aortic valve replacement surgery costs so we googled the procedure. Google tells us the surgery costs ballpark $170,000. This has all happened so quickly. He's also looking at skilled care after his procedure & an additional 6 months - 1 year post surgical recovery. We don't know how much of the medical bills Medicare is going to cover. He is concerned about bills and what's being let go at home. We ask for this help so that we might be able to eliminate some financial stressors for him in this already very stressful time. Anyone who knows Dad knows he has always been the first to give and never takes. He never asks anyone for anything, always souly relying on his spirit guide. And that's why today I'm asking for him. I ask & the good Lord will do with my prayers as He sees fit. Thank you & God bless each of you.
