<div>Hi, my name is Salena, and I’m the mother of a beautiful and strong 9-year-old girl named Brooklyn.

<div>On Friday, Brooklyn was in a tragic car accident while on her way to the beach with her aunts and four cousins for a girls’ trip. She is now in the Children’s Hospital, facing multiple surgeries and a long road to recovery.

<div>She has undergone surgery to repair her large intestine and remove parts of her small intestine. She also has a serious spinal injury that will require surgery to stabilize her spine. Brooklyn is currently on a ventilator as she fights to heal.

<div>Brooklyn is the sweetest, kindest soul you could ever meet. She loves playing outside and dreams of becoming a teacher when she grows up. She is the light of our world.

<div>Her dad and I want nothing more than to be with her every step of the way. But with other children at home and bills that don’t stop, we are facing a difficult financial burden. We are asking for help so we can be by her side and also make sure our boys are cared for at home with a sitter and meals.
