Handicap Van for Dick & Cindy Good
Hi,
My name is Terrie Alvarez and I am the cousin of Cindy Good, pictured above with her husband, Dick. Up until 4 years ago, Dick worked as an engineer on the Norfolk Southern Railroad. He enjoyed playing the drums at their church whenever he could; he loved helping his two sons with projects on their homes; and most of all he enjoyed teaching his 8 year old granddaughter how to care for and ride their ponies. Four years ago their lives change drastically when Dick became disabled from kidney failure and then diabetes. From December 2016 to June 2017, Dick went through five amputations: four to his right leg due to the diabetes and recurring, life-threatening infections and in June one amputation to his left leg. After nearly losing his life, Dick is home recuperation and learning to live without the use of his legs. Transporting hm to and from the many medical appointments is a huge ordeal for him and for Cindy. Moving him from wheelchair to vehicle and back again and again, requires a super amount of effort and strength on Cindy's part. I am hoping you will join me in making this part of their lives more manageable as soon as possible by donating to our fund for a handicap Van that will fit their exact needs. Thank you all: family, friends, co-workers, church families, and strangers for considering a donation for these two precious people!
