Why Should I Really Support Jabari ? What has he done in his craft?  

Jabari is faced with a financial hurdle after being accepted to one of the worlds most prestigious colleges. Since he was a high school student he always dreamed of attending the Berklee College Of Music. He know that his people will support him from the small island he is from and are depending on him to make a name for them and represent little St.Maarten Largely! He is just a talented island kid who is trying to make his dream a reality! Here is his biography with detailed information on most of his important achievements!

Jabari grew up around a very musical family, resulting in him being only 4 years old when he started playing his first instrument (Steelpan) and 11 years old when he began producing music and writing.

Jabari has participated and won various competitions with his musical abilities, whether in 'Rap' and vocals and not forgetting steel pan. 

He won an interscholastic instrumental competition held by the UJIMA foundation in 2009. 

At age 13, Jabari put together a band consisting of his friends and family and entered into an international competition in the Netherlands with 113 other entries and his band "Chrome Tone" came out victorious. Performing at the grand New Year's concert at the 'Concert Gebouw' in the Netherlands (2011). 

He won various Rapping contest like Teen times annual Talent showdown representing his school, the academic section of the St. Maarten Academy. He won with another rapper (Akeem Arrindell) as they were called 'Epidemic' in 2012. 

The following year he also won as a solo contender in the Rap category, at the first ever Tel-Cell Talent Breakthrough competition in 2013. 

In April of 2014, he attended ASCAP 's (Authors Songwriters Composers........) Expo with his father in order to learn more about the industry and so much more as it pertains to song writing and the likes. And was able to meet well known artists and producers during this 3 day Expo held in L.A. Hollywood California. 

In 2015 he received the Young King Award, an interscholastic recognition of young talents on the island. And the St. Maarten Academy was the school that nominated him in this category.

Jabari York graduated with honors as he ranked fourth in Music, out of thousands of candidates from 19 Caribbean territories. He earned a grade one with straight “A” profiles in this subject in 2015. This was the first time that The St. Maarten Academy the high-school he attended, and the country St. Maarten has offered Music as a CSEC examination subject. 

During his attendance at Berklee College of Music(Boston, MA), 5 week Summer Program in 2015, Jabari was selected from the Singer-Song writing department, to perform at Cafe 939. This was where he debuted his first official single "Island Kid". He was also granted the opportunity to perform at the B.P.C. (Berklee Performance Center).

Jabari was credited with a certificate from Berklee after completing the 5 week course successfully (no failing marks).

Jabari then released "Island Kid" commercially with a music video that quickly gained major recognition in January, 2016. (Over 100k views on facebook).

In march of 2016, he opened up for reggae superstar "Bad Gyal Ce'cile" at Tantra Night Club. 

In June of 2016, he was nominated for the "Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Caribsch Gebied". 

On November 19th, 2016, He won the "Spirit Of Excellence" Award (Handed to him by Minister Silveria Jacobs) which was hosted by the SxmYouth Council, 'For promoting a spirit of excellence in his commitment to Music'.

In August of 2017, He had the opportunity to perform with DJ Prime and open up for Platinum Recording artist Tory Lanez at the biggest festival in Amsterdam (Encore Festival 2017).
