This all started with 2 people telling me that this world is so bad and that there are no good people left in it. I thought to myself I know that isn't true, but how can I prove it.
My belief is that we are in a time of life with the most amazing, loving, caring, and even selfless people who just want to help each other, but sometimes we don't always know where to start and we want to be effective.
I use to have this old belief where I truly believed that I had to be at a signifcant level in society first in order to help other people.
I had a Mentor tell me, Darius, you do not have to be at any level to give, you can just give by any means.
This hit me really hard. I realized how silly I was to believe this but I was grateful for the lesson.
There any many ways to give and this is just one of the ways.
My attention then shifted to what do people need and how can I make a difference and bring other people with me to help.
So I started with a blanket drive called #warmblankets for the Homeless in our inner cities of Fort Worth.
Since starting 3 weeks ago we have raised 393 blankets with your help. These have all been local donations and truly of blessing of God and pure love.
We take these blankets every week and hand deliver them one by one to a person living in the streets who are truly in need. Often times there are many Women and Children who are homeless and to see and feel the gratitude they have is amazing.
That is why we must continue and why I am now asking for help from my dear friends all over the world.
As I write this it is currently 19 degrees F ( -7.2 C) here in Texas, US. It's really cold and Christmas is fast approaching. Our next hand out will be this coming Saturday morning December 24th, Christmas Eve Day.
This is my call to you to ask you to contribute in any way possible, whether it be a financial donation here or you utilize amazon prime and have blankets shipped directly to 5604 Colleyville Blvd. Suite A. Colleyville Texas 76034.
100% of these donations will be used in the most effective and efficient way possible to maximize our return for blankets, we've added gloves, and in the future sleeping bags. To put that in simpler terms we know how to shop to get the best deal but also to receive the best value through the quality of our purchases.
Any contribution will make a difference and I thank you from my heart for being apart of this life changing initative with me.
