Hello Friends and Family....
I would typically never create something like this but I decided why not. So many people have asked how they can help. Well, I started thinking that this might be an easy way for friends and family to offer help.
The past 3.5+ years have been interesting. We as a family have certainly learned a lot about cancer and it's ugly side-effects. We have grown as a family and have become stronger. Mom has been doing really well. She has been keeping a positive attitude through all of this and her faith has grown stronger and deeper. She has been an inspiration to all of us. I often times ask the question, "Why My Mom?" She reminds me, "God has a plan for me. We don't always know what it is."
The reports we received this past week has been a bit hard to swallow. Lots of tears and lots of sleepless nights. Mom and Dad will need to travel 200 miles round trip each day for a total of 15 days so Mom can receive her radiation therapy. She will be receiving radiation therapy to her entire brain Monday - Friday x 3 weeks at the Bismarck Cancer Center. She is scheduled for a biopsy of her lung next Tuesday at St Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.
I have been brainstorming ways to help relieve some of Mom and Dad's financial burden with travel expenses, medical expenses, meal expenses while traveling, etc. I've set up a GoFundMe account for Mom for any of those that would like to donate/help out. I know Mom and Dad would absolutely refuse this if I asked them in advance so I did it on my own without asking their permission (I'll ask for forgiveness later). If I go missing.... Let the police know. Just kidding...(LOL).
Mom and our family are ever-so grateful for your love, support and prayers. You have helped each of us cope and you have been a blessing to each of us. There is absolutely no way a person could ever survive this emotionally without support and God's love. Please know that we do not over look the kinds things you do especially for Mom but also for the rest of our family. You have and continue to touch our hearts. It's been a tough journey. We have never been on such a long rollercoaster ride in our entire lives!!
