Well, I've spent the better part of 3 years getting to know these kids, the community, the police force, government, school and parents. What I have seen is both troubling and hurts to the core of my being. We have all collectively casted off these kids and have said they are no good, garbage, trash and we turn the other cheek, the police collectively harass, the businesses shun them and ban them from their stores, and the government puts no real money, effort or plan to try to change things. They truly are destined to live up to the stigma of the "nothingness" we portray them to be.
The Ark has a mission statement, "Transforming culture by rebuilding our youth through Faith, Hope, and Love!" How do we do that? That is exactly what I would like to share. Over the past few years I have reached out to several community leaders without success, but I have a burden to share with the people! God has moved me, like Nehemiah, and the walls of our Jerusalem need to be rebuilt! I weep when I consider what is going on in this community. Oh that we cared as God cares! This is why the Bible tells us in James 4:8-9 that if we desire to draw near unto God, then we must turn our laughter into mourning and our joy into heaviness of heart. Psalm 126:5-6 tells us to go forth weeping, bearing the precious Seed of God's Word, and we will win souls to Jesus Christ. I am moved and have been called to action through years of growing, praying, seeking and obeying the Lord's call! Jesus alone can orchestrate this cultural change, and restore this community. It's time; God is calling His people, and has been calling His people, but they are not listening. Well it's time! Are we with Him or against Him? I am pleading for support from this whole community, starting with the churches and all our Christian brothers and sisters, then to the businesses, and on to all levels of government and education.
We will be having a community awareness and youth conference in the upcoming future, once the Lord puts His people into action! We are in need of continued support, financing, networking, and awareness to where our community is and where it will go with Christ leading. The youth of this community need Gods people,
